WINTHROP, Mass. - Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.), a senior on the Regis (Mass.) men's swimming and diving team, has been named the Corvias Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Athlete of the Week.

Luong was part of the Pride's 4x200 medley relay team that, for the third time in as many meets, opened the day with a big victory on Saturday afternoon in a tri-meet against Norwich University and Babson College. Luong and teammates Joshua Unas (Santa Clarita, Calif.), Nick Rainville (Reading, Mass.) and Bryan Johnson (Sudbury, Mass.) combined to defeat Babson's team by a mere seven one hundredths of a second, winning with a time of 1:40.67.

Luong went on to win a pair of events individually on the afternoon as well for the Pride, winning the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 0:22.33 and the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 0:54.12.

Luong and the rest of the Pride men's and women's swimming & diving teams return to action on Friday evening, when they travel to St. Joseph's College (Maine) to take on the Monks. The first races of the day are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
