MEN’S SWIMMING SWEEPS GNAC, ECAC WEEKLY AWARDS

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College sophomore Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.) has been named this week's Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week and the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Swimmer of the Week while teammate Nick Rainville (Reading, Mass.) has been named the NECC and Corvias ECAC Rookie of the Week it was announced on Monday and Wednesday Afternoon. Luong and Rainville helped lead the Pride to a 7th place finish at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Championships (NEISDA) Championships this past weekend.

Luong took home the top time in the 100 yard butterfly (50.20), qualifying for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships while posting an NCAA B qualifying time. He was also a part of the 200 medley relay team which set a new school record and qualified for the ECAC Championships with a time of 1:26.75. On Saturday, Luong posted a new school record in the 50 yard butterfly (23.31) and was a part of the 800 yard freestyle relay team that set a new school record (7:09.95) and qualified for the ECAC Championships.

Rainville was a part of the 200 medley relay team that set a new school record (1:26.75) and qualified for the ECAC Championships. Rainville also qualified for the ECAC's in the 100 yard butterfly (54.44). On Saturday, Rainville qualified for the ECAC Championships in the 800 yard freestyle relay as the team set a new school record in the event with a time of 7:09.95.

The Regis College Swimming & Diving team returns to the pool in two weeks when they travel to the University of Pittsburgh for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships.
