PRIDE SWEEP GNAC AWARDS FOR 2ND STRAIGHT WEEK

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College Senior A.J. Graf (Newton, Mass.) has been named this week's Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week while teammate Nick Rainville (Reading, Mass.) has been named the Rookie of the Week it was announced on Monday Afternoon. Graf and Rainville helped lead the Pride to a 152-79 victory over St. Joseph's College of Maine this past weekend. Also named to the GNAC weekly honor roll were Shannan O'Neil (Lowell, Mass.) and Ashlyn Deroche (North Reading, Mass.). Both swimmers took home a combined five first place finishes in the Pride's 147.5-102.5 win against the Monks

Graf placed first in three events this past weekend. He finished the 50 yard freestyle (23.14), 100 yard breaststroke (1:06.38) and the 50 yard butterfly (25.31) with the top times. Rainville, who received rookie honors for the third consecutive week, was a member of the 200 yard freestyle relay team who finished first with a time of 1:35.55. He also added first place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle (1:56.10) and the 100 yard butterfly (59.20).

For the women, O'Neil was a part of two relay teams that posted the top times, including the 200 medley relay (2:04.06) and 200 freestyle relay (1:53.50). O'Neil added wins in the 50 yard backstroke (31.88) and 100 yard freestyle (1:00.59). Deroche was also part relay teams that took home the top times in the 200 medley relay (2:04.06) and 200 yard freestyle relay (1:53.50). Individually, Deroche won the 200 yard freestyle (2:11.87) and 50 yard freestyle (28.31) as well.

Both teams return to the pool in three week when Regis travels to Simmons College for the GNAC Championships.
