PRIDE SWEEP MONKS AT DUAL MEET

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams traveled to Standish, Maine to take on St. Joseph's College of Maine in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon. Both Pride squads won as the women defeated the Monks 147.5-102.5 and the men's squad also captured a victory, 152-79.

For the women, the 200 medley relay team of current Great Northeast Athletic Conference Honor Roll member Shannan O'Neil (Lowell, Mass.), Haley Bowen (Litchfield, N.H.), Amanda Iandoli (Mansfield, Mass.) and Ashlyn Deroche (North Reading, Mass.) took the top time at 2:04.06. O'Neil also took home the best time in the 50 yard backstroke (31.88) and 100 yard freestyle (1:00.59). Bowen also earned top times in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:15.75) and the 100 yard individual medley (1:07.60). Iandoli finished first in the 100 yard butterfly (1:12.62), Deroche, also a GNAC Honor Roll choice, finished the 200 yard freestyle (2:11.87) and 50 yard freestyle (28.31) with the top times.

Jessica Higgins (Peabody, Mass.) came in first during the 1650 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke. The team of Higgins, Deroche, Lucia Llorente-Ruiz (Newton, Mass.) and O'Neil also took home the top time in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

For the men, the 200 freestyle relay team of reigning GNAC Rookie of the Week Nick Rainville (Reading, Mass.), Rob Ekberg (Northbridge, Mass.), Joe Woods (Milton, Mass.) and GNAC Swimmer of the Week Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.) took home the top time at 1:35.55. Rainville also added victories in the 200 yard freestyle (1:56.10), 100 yard butterfly (59.20). Luong finished the 100 yard backstroke in 57.17.

A.J. Graf (Newton, Mass) and Cassidy Bastinelli (Newton, Mass.) also placed first in three events. Graf finished the 50 yard freestyle (23.14), 100 yard breaststroke (1:06.38) and the 50 yard butterfly (25.31) with the top times while Bastinelli placed first in the 50 yard backstroke (26.89), 100 yard freestyle (51.45) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:22.38).

Both teams return to the pool in three week when Regis travels to Simmons College for the GNAC Championships.
