GRAF, RAINVILLE SWEEP GNAC WEEKLY HONORS

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College senior A.J. Graf (Newton, Mass.) and freshman Nick Rainville (Reading, Mass.) were named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimmer and Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday afternoon. Graf and Rainville helped lead the Pride to a 113-113 draw with Bridgewater State University this past weekend.

Also named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll were Haley Bowen (Litchfield, N.H.) and Jessica Higgins (Peabody, Mass.). The duo combined for six first place finishes in the Pride's 126-104 setback to the Bears.

Graf won three races this past weekend. The senior was a part of the 1st place 200 medley relay team (1:46.10), and added wins in the 50 yard freestyle (22.89) and 100 yard freestyle (51.00). Nick Rainville was also a member of the 200 medley relay team, and added wins in the 200 yard individual medley (2:14.22) as well as the 100 yard butterfly (56.67).

For the women, Haley Bowen won three individual races to lead the Pride against BSU. Bowen posted victories in the 1,000 yard freestyle (12:07.32), 200 yard individual medley (2:26.65), and 100 yard breaststroke (1:12.88). Jessica Higgins had another strong week for the Pride, winning three events. Higgins was a part of the first place 200 medley relay team (2:02.38) and added wins in the 200 yard freestyle (2:07.13) and the 100 yard backstroke (1:06.12).

The Regis College swimming and diving teams return to the pool on Saturday when they host Gordon College in a meet starting at 11:00 a.m.
