PRIDE COMPLETE DAY ONE AT ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Regis College men's swimming & diving team competed in two events on the first day of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Friday.

The 200 yard Free Relay team of junior Alex Graf (Newton, Mass.), freshmen Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.), Cassidy Bastinelli (Newton, Mass.), and Robert Ekberg (Northbridge, Mass.) swam the event in 1:27.60, which was nearly a full second faster than their previous mark at the NEISDA Championships. They just narrowly missed out on the Regis College record by .01, but their performance marks the first time for the men's program to have a finalist at ECAC's.

Individually, Graf also swam in the 50 yard Freestyle for the Pride. He finished the event in a time of 21.82.

The 200 yard Medley Relay will compete as part of tomorrow's events. Preliminaries for the event will begin at 10:06 a.m.

Luong will also compete tomorrow in both the 100 yard Fly and 100 yard Back, which begin at 10:43 a.m. and 11:31 a.m., respectively. Graf will partake in the 200 yard Free tomorrow, which starts at 11:00 a.m.
