GRAF NAMED ECAC SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

WESTON, Mass. - Days after being named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Swimmer of the Week, Regis College junior Alex Graf (Newton, Mass.) has been recognized as the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Swimmer of the Week for the Division III New England region. 

Graf qualified for several ECAC Championship races as well as set one new school record this past weekend at the NEISDA Championships at the University of Rhode Island.

His ECAC qualifying races included the 100 yard Free (48.08), 400 yard Relay (3:16.44), 200 yard Medley Relay (1:39.53), and the 800 yard Free Relay (7:30.52), which was a new Regis College record.

The 800 yard Free Relay team, which Graf led off in an ECAC qualifying time of 1:46.69, took third place at the Championships, while the 200 yard Medley Relay team finished in fourth and his 100 Free time was good enough for a fifth place finish. Graf added a third place finish in the 50 yard Fly (24.07) and fifth place finish in the 50 yard Free (21.86).

Graf will compete at the ECAC Championships at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. on Feb. 28, March 1 & 2.
