WESTON, Mass. - Regis College swimming & diving member Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.) has been recognized by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for his standout performance this past weekend. Luong, a freshman on the men's team, has been named the GNAC Rookie of the Week.

Luong won four races on Saturday afternoon against Colby-Sawyer. He won the 200 Freestyle (1:52.38), 200 Backstroke (2:01.40), 100 IM (57.11), and was a part of the 200 Medley Relay that took first place. The rookie broke three records in the process, including pool records in the freestyle and backstroke, as well as re-broke his own school record in the backstroke.

Luong, who was also named this week's Regis College Student-Athlete of the Week, and the rest of the Pride will return to the pool this Saturday for a 1 p.m. meet at Elms.
