WALTHAM, Mass. – The Regis College men's and women's swimming & diving teams saw a number of its members swim their fastest times at the Brandeis Invitational on Saturday afternoon, highlighted by Kaitlynn LaPolt (New Haven, Conn.), who qualified for the New England Championships.

LaPolt took first place in the 50 Yard Backstroke, coming in at a time of 34.24. Megan Kennelly also had a standout day for the women, taking first place in the 100 Yard Freestyle. Kennelly had the fastest time after coming in at a time of 1:01.55. LaPolt also took second in the 50 Yard Fly (32.96), and Kennelly took second in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:35.06).

On the men's side, Alex Graf (Newton, Mass.) and Nick Yerzyk (West Hills, Calif.) took first and second, respectively, in the 100 Yard Freestyle. Graf came in at a time of 50.15 seconds, while Yerzyk finished the event in a time of 51.40 seconds

When asked about the meet, head coach James Sweeney said, "Today was our last meet to qualify for the New England Championships, and we did tremendous. We did have another swimmer qualify for next weekend's championships, Kaitlynn LaPolt, along with several season and lifetime best times today."

"I was very happy with how we swam today, and it just really makes me pumped up for next weekend. With another week of rest this week I expect us to do great things next weekend."

The Pride return to the pool next weekend when they travel to Vermont for the NEISDA Championships, which take place February 8-10th.
