MEN SWIM TO FIRST VICTORY OF SEASON

Weston, Mass.—In a non-The Commonwealth Coast Conference meet, Regis College men’s swimming and diving notched its first win of the season by defeating St. Joseph’s of Maine 111-75. Regis defeated the University of New England earlier in the season, but its program is competing at the club level this year.

The Regis women’s team lost 141-85 in the Saturday dual meet. The men’s team scored 11 points winning the 200-yard medley relay. Mike Vasquez, Mick Moriarty, Stephen McGovern, and Doug Dunbar finished in a time of 2:13.94.

McGovern would finish the 50 breaststroke in first, and Devin Galvin finished in second place respectively. Teammate Mick Moriarty snagged nine points with his first place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.09.

Christina Estrada swam the 200 backstroke in 2:30.55, giving Regis nine points. The Monks first swimmer to touch was four seconds behind Estrada.

Both the men and women’s teams will return to the pool Dec. 4-5 to compete in the TCCC Swimming and Diving invitational at Roger Williams University.
