Regis Men’s Lacrosse Recognized in GNAC Awards Along with Jaynes, Harney

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Regis College men's lacrosse team received the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Lacrosse Institutional Sportsmanship Award, the eighth Pride program to earn the honor this year, plus Jack Jaynes (Reading, Mass.) and Owen Harney (Natick, Mass.) collected conference postseason honors, as the league office announced the men's lacrosse all-conference teams and major awards for the 2024 season Tuesday, May 7.

Jaynes was voted to the GNAC Men's Lacrosse All-Rookie Team after leading the Pride with 48 total points thanks to 29 goals, tied for most on the squad, and 19 assists, second on the team. Starting 13 of the 14 matches he appeared in, Jaynes earned multiple points in 12 matches, beginning with a season-high seven points on two goals and five assists in the season-opening victory at Hilbert March 4.

A two-time GNAC Rookie of the Week, Jaynes notched four hat tricks, highlighted by a five-goal performance in the Pride's victory over Albertus Magnus April 20 in which all five goals came in the second half to lead Regis to outscore the Falcons after halftime, 9-3. He also scored four goals in victories at Salem State March 9 and against MCLA March 16, plus he collected three goals and three assists against Mitchell April 17.

Harney, selected to the GNAC Men's Lacrosse All-Sportsmanship Team, also started 13 of 14 matches this past season for the Pride, ending the year with 21 groundballs and five caused turnovers. One of this year's team captains, Harney collected a season-high four groundballs at Salem State and caused two turnovers in the team's 7-6 victory over Anna Maria March 27.

In voting by the 12 conference coaches, the Regis men's lacrosse team received the GNAC Team Sportsmanship Award for the third straight year for continually showing a commitment to play the game fairly and be respectful of opponents and officials. The Pride completed the 2024 season with a 7-7 overall record, the most victories in a single season for the program since 2017.

Regis College is a Division III member of the NCAA competing within the Great Northeast Athletic Conference in 19 intercollegiate sports.
