STANDISH, Maine – Battling rainy and foggy conditions, Regis College lost to Saint Joseph's College, 21-8, Friday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's lacrosse match at the SJC Sports Complex.

Saint Joseph's (7-7, 4-3 GNAC) struck first just over two minutes into the match as Nathaniel Girardin scored off an assist from Tiger Hopkins, followed by goals by Nick Wesley and Hopkins. The Pride broke through shortly thereafter thanks to an unassisted tally from Nick Klein (Buxton, Maine), but the Monks rattled off six unanswered goals by six different players to extend their lead to 9-1 early in the second quarter.

The second half started with two Regis goals from Brendan Cook (Billerica, Mass.) and Klein less than three minutes apart. The Monks struck back with three straight goals before Cook notched his second goal of the period. Marsella scored both Pride goals in the fourth quarter, but Saint Joseph's remained comfortably ahead with three goals in the final period.
