Men’s Lacrosse Defeated in GNAC Matchup
WESTON, Mass. - Regis College was defeated by the University of Saint Joseph, 18-3, Saturday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference men's lacrosse matchup at Regis Stadium.
 
Ryan Richardson (Corona, Calif.) led Regis with two goals while Arpan Kakadia (Pembroke, N.H.) added the Pride's third goal of the game. Robby Fuller (Wolfeboro, N.H.) recorded a career-high 20 saves as USJ held offensive possession for the majority of the match.
 
Regis scored all three of its goals in the first half, keeping the game competitive through the first two quarters as it trailed 5-3 at halftime.
 
The Blue Jay offense exploded in the third quarter, taking advantage of an non-releasable Regis penalty which allowed them to score four times in quick succession with the extra-man advantage. USJ scored a total of 13 times in the third period. Regis would lock down on defense in the fourth quarter, allowing zero goals in the period, but the Pride could not put the ball in the net as well.
 
The Blue Jays were led offensively by Noah Mocksfield with eight goals and one assist. Evan Zimnoch scored three goals during the afternoon while Anthony Lupo and Benjamin Green each scored twice. Ryan Paltauf finished with one goal and eight assists.
 
Regis College (2-5, 0-2 GNAC) next plays at Rivier University Wednesday, Mar. 30, beginning at 7:00 p.m. The USJ Blue Jays (4-4, 1-2 GNAC) travel to Western Connecticut State University Tuesday, Mar. 29, with that match scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
