Regis Men's Lacrosse Earns Second Win of Season
WESTON, Mass. - Regis College defeated MCLA, 10-7, to secure its second victory of the season Tuesday night in a non-conference men's collegiate lacrosse match at Regis Stadium.
 
Six different players scored for the Pride, led by Brendan Cook (Billerica, Mass.) with three goals for the hat trick, followed by Ryan Richardson (Corona, Calif.) and Blake Hiltz (Tewksbury, Mass.) with two goals apiece. Liam Donovan (Lynn, Mass.), Arpan Kakadia (Pembroke, N.H.), and Anthony Marsella (Johnston, R.I.) scored one goal apiece, with Marsella also contributing four assists.
 
After a 2-2 stalemate in the first half, Regis broke open the offensive floodgates in the third quarter, scoring five goals in the period. The Pride took advantage of MCLA penalties, with Richardson and Donovan both scoring on extra-man opportunities, allowing Regis to finish the quarter with a 7-5 advantage.
 
The Pride would add to their advantage when Cook, Hiltz, and Kakadia each scored in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach from the visitors.
 
Tom Irwin and Johnny Hebert led MCLA with two goals apiece. Pride goalie Nick Penta (Andover, Mass.) secured the win, making 10 saves on the night as Regis outshot the visitors, 39-32. Brady Larkin made 16 saves to keep the Trailblazers close throughout the night. 
 
Regis (2-2) begins conference play Saturday, Mar. 19, against Johnson and Wales beginning at 3 p.m. at Regis Stadium. MCLA (0-3) heads to Maine Maritime to face the Mariners Saturday starting at 12 p.m.
