Men's Lacrosse Falls In GNAC Action at Norwich

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Danny Rancano (Miami, Fla.) scored a team-high four goals, AJ Karofsky (Barrington, R.I.) added three more but it wasn't enough at the Regis (Mass.) men's lacrosse team fell 15-10 at Norwich University, Wednesday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Sabine Field.

The game was tight from end-to-end, with Norwich (5-5, 2-1 GNAC) holding the lead throughout but never able to pull away from the tenacious Pride (3-6, 1-2 GNAC). Entering the fourth quarter, the Cadets held a narrow 11-9 advantage.

Cody Moore (Canton, N.Y.) kicked the scoring off in the fourth quarter to make it 12-9 before Josh Jenkins (Centennial, Colo.) took over with three straight goals to seal up the victory for the maroon and gold.

Norwich led early but goals from Rancano and Collin Spillane (Franklin, Mass.) helped tied up the game at 3-3 early in the second quarter. The Cadets entered halftime up a goal but extended the advantage to three goals on Moore's score with 7:19 remaining in the third period.

The Pride would not let the game get away from them as Karofsky, with Regis playing a man down, scored late in the third but the Cadets took over in the fourth quarter.

Regis next hosts Anna Maria this Saturday, Apr. 7 at 3:00 p.m.
