Men’s Lacrosse Set To Defend NECC Tournament Title This Week

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Top-seeded Regis (Mass.) men's lacrosse will take aim at its second straight New England Collegiate Conference tournament title this week, hosting fourth-seeded Mitchell in the semifinal round Wednesday Apr. 26, 5:00 p.m. at Regis Stadium.

Should the Pride advance to the final, they will play the winner of No. 2 Daniel Webster and No. 3 Becker on Saturday, Apr. 29 with the start time at Regis Stadium set for 1:00 p.m.

Regis (5-9) earned the league's top seed after a perfect 4-0 regular season record, the straight season the Pride boasted an unblemished league record. Regis is led defensively by the the reigning NECC Player of the Year, senior D.J. Barrile (Medford, Mass.) while maintaining a balanced offensive front with Calvin Brault (Colchester, Vt.) and AJ Karofsky (Barrington, R.I.) both in the top five in goals in conference play.

Jacob Setzko (Farmington, Conn.) will look to propel the Mariners (2-9) past Regis offensively after finishing third in conference play with 14 goals in just four games. He will be helped offensively by sophomore classmate Kyle Marsh (Oakdale, Conn.) who connected on nine goals in NECC play this season.
