Men's Lacrosse Upended at Dean College

FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Regis (Mass.) men's lacrosse team were overpowered by Dean College with seven unanswered goals in second half, leading to a 13-6 loss to the Bulldogs on Monday.

Regis was led by Danny Rancano, who had 2 goals and 1 assist. Calvin Brault had two goals as well, and Nick Romig had one goal and an assist. D.J. Barille made 11 saves in net for the Pride (0-2).

Dean trailed 4-3 at halftime after a slow paced first half. The Bulldogs opened it up midway through the third quarter with three goals on consecutive possessions. Colin Hinrichs scored on an assist from Marcus Richardson, and Kyle Pucci and Richardson scored on asissts from Hinrichs.

Dean scored the first four goals of the fourth quarter. Ben Sikes took a feed from Anthony Trasacco and finished inside to push the lead to 7-4. Trasacco scored unassisted on the next possession to push the lead to 8-4 and Dean was able to control the pace for the rest of the game.

Trasacco and Hinrichs finished with three goals and two assists. Richardson had three goals and one assist, Pucci had three goals and Sikes had one goal and one assist.

The Pride hit the field on Thursday, Mar. 9 for a 4:00 p.m. face off at Salem State. The Bulldogs next play Wednesday at home against Becker. Face off is set for 3:30 p.m.
