Goalie D.J. Barrile Goes Out On Top

WESTON, Mass. – Regis men's lacrosse goalkeeper D.J. Barrile (Medford, Mass.) capped a fine season for the Pride, finishing the 2016 campaign as the NCAA's Division III leader in save percentage. The honor was revealed today by the NCAA office.

Barrile, who posted a .672 save percentage, was named the New England Collegiate Conference's Player of the Year after leading Regis to its first New England Collegiate Conference title. He was also selected as the league tournament's Most Valuable Player.

During the season, he was a three-time NECC Player of the Week and a one-time ECAC Division III New England Defensive Player of the Week selection. Barrile also led the NECC in goals against (109) and goals against average (7.43).

In one of his finest performances of the season, the junior captain held the defending NECC Champion Becker Hawks to only three goals while making 15 saves in an 8-3 Regis win on April 9th.
