WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's lacrosse team has been selected to finish second in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference season, according to the NECC coaches poll released earlier this week.
The Pride finished 2014 with a program record 9-8 mark and Regis' first appearance in the ECAC Tournament. The Crimson and Gold return their top two point-getters from a year ago in Nicky Rodrigo (Miami, Fla.) and Peter Leighton (Wilmington, Mass.). The duo combined for 85 goals and 54 assists last year, and currently rank as the top two in program history in career points.
Becker was selected to finish first according to the poll, grabbing two of the possible four first place votes. Mitchell College was picked third, while Daniel Webster College rounded out the polls in fourth.
Regis men's lacrosse opens the 2015 campaign on March 5 when they travel to SUNY Polytechnic for a 3:30 p.m. matchup.
