MEN’S LACROSSE TO WELCOME UNITED STATES ARMY CAPTAIN & SENIOR INTELLIGENCE ANALYST

WESTON, Mass. - On January 19, the eve of the men's lacrosse season start date, the team will welcome United States Army Captain and Senior Intelligence Analyst David M. Roderick to address to the program.

Captain Roderick, a former Division I football player at the University of Rhode Island (URI), is a Commissioned Officer and will address the players on his experiences in leadership and how it transcends to collegiate sports.

During his tenure in the United States Military, Mr. Roderick served a year at the Pentagon working as the NCOIC for the Joint Chief of Staff Counter-Terrorism Team (2004). He was deployed twice to Iraq (2005 and 2007) to serve as a NCO Senior Counter-Terrorism Analyst and most recently served as the Intelligence Officer for a Marine Special Forces Team in Helmand, Afghanistan (2011-2012).

In addition to his undergraduate degree in psychology from URI, Roderick is in the process of completing his Masters of Education in Administration from Jones International University in Centennial, CO.

Among his many awards include the Joint Service Achievement Medal, Colonel Carl F. Eifler Award and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal.

In his 'civilian life' Captain Roderick is the Head Boys Varsity Lacrosse Coach and Dean of Students at Mount Saint Charles Academy (Woonsocket, RI). He is a former forensics teacher and varsity swimming coach as well.
