WESTON, Mass. – Sophomore attack Nicky Rodrigo (Miami, Fla.) has been named to Lax Magazine's weekly Honor Roll this week. Rodrigo helped lead the Pride (8-4) to a 2-1 mark in three games played last week.
The sophomore began the week with a goal and an assist in a 7-5 setback to Mass. Maritime, but followed that up with two goals, three assists, and a pair of groundballs in the Pride's 19-3 victory over Daniel Webster College. Rodrigo wrapped up the week with an eight-point day of four goals and four assists, as well as three groundballs, in a 14-9 win over Johnson & Wales University on Saturday. In the three games, Rodrigo had 15 points with seven goals and eight assists, and five groundballs.
This marks the second Honor Roll selection for Rodrigo as he also earned the Lax Magazine weekly honor back on March 24 after a 14 point week (nine goals, five assists) in a pair of Regis wins.
Rodrigo currently leads the Pride in goals (33), assists (19), and points (52) and is sixth on the team with 23 groundballs. Nationally, Rodrigo ranks inside the top 30 in points per game at 4.33 PPG and inside the top 50 in the nation in goals per game at 2.75 GPG.
Nicky Rodrigo and the Regis College men's lacrosse team return to action on Wednesday afternoon when the Pride host Johnson State College at 4:30 p.m.
