WESTON, Mass. – Regis College's Peter Leighton (Wilmington, Mass.) and Peter Fucci (Amherst, N.H.) of the men's lacrosse team have been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, it was announced on Monday. Leighton and Fucci each had standout performances in the Pride's 14-12 setback to UMass Boston on Thursday.

Leighton, a junior attack, registered seven points on four goals and three assists in the loss to the Beacons. He also forced one caused turnover. Fucci, a sophomore midfielder, recorded two goals and one assist for three points in the losing effort. He also scooped up one ground ball in the contest.

Through 14 games played this season, Leighton ranks among league leaders in goals (34), assists (22), and points (56). With 15 games under his belt, Fucci has 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points on the season.

Leighton, Fucci, and the rest of the Regis College men's lacrosse team (9-6) will wrap up the regular season with a 7 p.m. NECC game at Becker College on Tuesday.
