O'BRIEN, GOODSELL LEAD PRIDE OVER DALLAS, 8-5

DALLAS, Texas – Seven different players registered at least a goal or an assist, as the Regis College men's lacrosse team defeated the University of Dallas, 8-5 on Saturday afternoon. The Pride improve to 2-2 on the young season, while the Crusaders fall to 0-2.

Regis was led by freshmen Jack O'Brien (Milton, Mass.) and Zach Goodsell (Rochester, Mass.), who each tallied two goals on the day. O'Brien also scooped up a game-high ten ground balls for Regis.

Trailing early in the first quarter after a Tony Lemos (Dana Point, Calif.) goal, Goodsell scored back-to-back goals to put the Pride ahead, 2-1 with 5:06 remaining in the first quarter.

After both teams traded goals and the game was tied at three apiece, Chris Campbell (South Hadley, Mass.) scored with 6:31 left in the half to put Regis ahead, and the Pride entered halftime with the slight 4-3 lead.

Regis locked down on defense in the second half, limiting the Crusaders to just eight combined shots in the third and fourth quarters.

The Pride received goals from Andrew O'Reilly (Hollis, N.H.) and Billy Stewart (West Roxbury, Mass.) in the third quarter to push their lead to 6-3. But just ten seconds after Stewart's goal, the Crusaders' Joey Mullen (Ridgewood, N.J.) scored to cut the deficit to 6-4.

In the final quarter, the Pride once again rattled off back-to-back goals from Nicky Rodrigo (Miami, Fla.) and O'Brien for the 8-4 lead. Dallas was able to put one more goal on the scoreboard when Lemos scored his third goal of the game, but the Pride held on for the 8-5 victory.

Regis will return to Weston, Mass. to begin a three-game homestand, which begins with SUNY Canton on March 16 at 3:30 p.m.
