TOUGH BATTLE ENDS WITH EAGLE VICTORY

Weston, Mass.—Regis College (0-10) battled in a non-conference match-up versus Daniel Webster College (6-4, 3-2 GNAC) Tuesday. Regis held the lead twice in the game, but eventually fell to the Eagles 8-6.

The Pride jumped to a 2-1 lead following goals by Bradford Hastings (Mansfield, Mass.) and Michael Kaplan (Braintree, Mass.). Each finished with two goals apiece.

Daniel Webster’s senior Steve Gelinas (Auburn, NH) scored the Eagles first goal. Sophomore Alex McKenzie (Nashua, NH) scored two goals. Sophomore Antonio Polson contributed an assist, and game tying goal for Daniel Webster.

Mike Jordan (Wakefield, Mass.) had the game-winning goal, scoring the teams seventh goal in the fourth quarter with 6:53 remaining.

Regis continued to battle for goals in the fourth, maintaining possession for more than 6:00 minutes in the fourth. Teammates Kaplan, Hastings, and Stephen Bottex (Norwood, Mass.) had consecutive shots on Daniel Webster keeper Tommy Driscoll (South Boston, Mass.).

Driscoll finished with 22 saves. In comparison, Regis had 41 shots. Hastings led the Pride with 22 shots.

The Eagles regained the ball, and scored with 4:13 remaining in the game. Noah Smith (Medford, Mass.) scored the goal, and contributed an assist on an earlier score.

Regis will travel to Rivier College April 29. Daniel Webster will travel to Rivier in the regular season finale on May 1.
