LEOPARDS TAME PRIDE

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Jeff Novak (Killingworth, Conn.), freshman Mark Pappas (Worcester, Mass.), and freshman Mike Sharpe (Needham, Mass.) each tallied three goals as the Wentworth lacrosse team held Regis scoreless over the final 35:35, en route to a 20-3 win in the regular-season finale played at Sweeney Field.

The visiting Pride tallied first on a goal from freshman Andrew Haddon (Nantucket, Mass.) with 9:53 left in the first quarter. Regis freshman Bradford Hastings (Mansfield, Mass.) made it a 3-2 game with 1:43 remaining in the quarter before Pappas tallied a shorthanded marker with 54 ticks left to close out the scoring for the period. Freshman Mike Kaplan (Braintree, Mass.) scored his first goal of the season against the Leopards.

Regis sophomore Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, Mass.) made 28 saves to take the loss.  Wentworth held a 76-21 advantage in shots and a 77-38 advantage in ground balls. 

Regis falls to 0-9 and hosts Daniel Webster on Tuesday.
