MEN'S LACROSSE PREPARE FOR SATURDAY OPPONENT

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College Men’s Lacrosse squad will look to host the Pilgrims of New England College on Saturday April 10, 2010 at 3:00 pm.  Freshman leading scorer Bradford Hastings (Mansfield, Mass.) looks to continue the Pride attack as he leads the team with 14 goals on the season.  In order for the Pride to come out of this game victorious, they will need to get more shot attempts at the net along with some solid defense from the backfield.

Sophomore Regis Goalkeeper Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, Mass.) will need to continue his incredible awareness in front of the net, along with a little help from his defense to prevent the Pilgrim attack from occurring.

If the Pride can get off to a good start by winning a couple more face-offs along with protecting and maintaining possession of the ball, they can be sure to add a win to the win column.  Freshmen Andrew Goldberg (Solebury, Pa.) and Stephan Bottex (Norwood, Mass.) will have to balance the Regis attack to give the Pride an edge on New England College.

For the Pilgrims of New England College senior attacker Matt Vozzolo (Somers, Conn.) will lead the Pilgrim attack with 13 goals and 4 assists on 32 total shots on the season.  Along with junior attacker Matt Carey (Medford, NY) who is behind Vozzolo with 10 goals but leads the team with 9 assists on the season which will hope to put the Pride defense to work.

Senior Goalkeeper Nick Fischer (South Burlington, VT) will look to put a halt on the Pride attack as he already has recorded 82 saves on the season and will look to increase that number.

The Pilgrims shoot 200 of their 260 total shots, on goal and the Pride will need a great performance out of LaMacchia if they want to win this battle of conference foes.
