Tate Pike Named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College sophomore guard Tate Pike (Bellingham, Mass.) has been selected to the 2022-23 Academic All-District® Division III Men's Basketball Team by College Sports Communicators, announced Tuesday, Feb. 21, by the national organization.

The Academic All-District® Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® ballot, with first-, second-, and third-team honorees to be announced in mid-March.

Pike appeared in all 26 games for Regis during the 2022-23 season, including four starts. He averaged 18.3 minutes, 5.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game as he was usually one of the first players off the bench for the Pride, helping the team to a 14-12 overall record, including a 10-8 mark within the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

Pike scored a season-high 13 points on 5-for-6 field goal shooting against Lesley Nov. 29, plus he reached double figures in scoring two other times during the season with 12 points at Lasell Jan. 17 and 10 points against USJ Jan. 7. Pike grabbed eight rebounds and dished out four assists during the Pride's victory over Hunter College Nov. 12.

In the classroom, Pike is majoring in business and holds a cumulative grade point average of 3.78 after the Fall 2022 semester. He is the first student-athlete from the Regis men's basketball program to receive College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honors and becomes the 15th Pride student-athlete to earn the academic recognition so far in 2022-23.

In total, 414 Division III men's basketball players were named to the Academic All-District® Team, including nine student-athletes from the GNAC. Voting for the Academic All‐America® men's basketball teams closes Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 11:59 p.m. EST. All College Sports Communicators members are eligible to vote on the ballots in their division.

The Division III College Sports Communicators Academic All‐America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structures to assist College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022‐23 Division III Academic All‐America® program.

Regis College sponsors 20 intercollegiate sports, including men's basketball, within NCAA Division III as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
