CHAMBERS NAMED TO NABC HONORS COURT

WESTON, Mass. – Junior Ryan Chambers (Abington, Mass.) has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2012-13 Honors Court, it was announced on Wednesday afternoon. The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that players possess off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.

Chambers joins over 700 student-athletes from over 285 colleges and universities from around the country.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:

  • Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
  • Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2012-13 academic year.
  • Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
  • Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution.

Chambers, a management major, started all 28 games for the Pride in 2012-13 and averaged 12.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He led the New England Collegiate Conference in minutes played (974) while finishing second in the league in three-pointers made with 76.

Entering his senior year, Chambers has scored 936 points and is the all-time leader in three-pointers made (193) and free throw percentage (78.9%).
