WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman Osanto Marc (Kissimmee, Fla.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference's (NECC) Rookie of the Week in men's basketball this week, it was announced by the league offices on Monday afternoon. Marc helped lead the Pride (2-1) to an 80-77 double-overtime victory over Tufts University last Tuesday night.

In the victory over the Jumbos, Marc hit a pair of freethrows with only 39 seconds remaining in regulation to force the first overtime. Marc later added the go-ahead point with a freethrow in the second overtime with a mere 33 seconds remaining that propelled the Pride over the Jumbos. The freshman scored 15 of his team-high 22 points in the second half to bring the Pride all the way back from a 13-point halftime deficit.

Osanto Marc currently leads Regis in points per game at 17.3 while also averaging 3.3 rebounds per contest and a team-leading four assists per game.

Regis looks to improve to 3-1 when the Pride travels to Westfield State University on Wednesday night to take on the Owls in a non-conference matchup at 7:00 p.m.
