PRIDE PREPARE TO MAKE STAND IN TCCC VERSUS NEW ENGLAND

Weston, Mass.-Regis College (6-8, 2-1 TCCC) will face a tough New England College (5-10, 0-3 TCCC) program Wednesday. Regis, coming off its first TCCC loss to Curry College, after having defeated two top conference programs will not be able to take the Pilgrims lightly.

Although New England's record does not speak volumes, it is not a true indicator of the talent they bring to the court. Joe Faragher leads the Pilgrims in points per game, averaging 11.7.

Eric Lenahan is the second leading scorer with 10.8 PPG. Lenahan is 50 percent (17-of-34) on the season from behind the three-point mark.

As a team New England is scoring 68.0 PPG compared to its opponents average of 75.5. Comparatively speaking, Regis is averaging 68.0 PPG overall, but has increased its average to 72.7 PPG against conference opponents.

The Pilgrims are averaging 19.2 turnovers per game. Regis is -4.6, averaging 14.2 turnovers.

Regis has three player's tallying double figures on average. Senior Jesse Vega, sophomore Ta'Keame Gomes, and junior Derrick Neal are posting 13.5, 10.5, and 10.0 points per game respectively.

Neal is drastically below his 2008-09 points versus conference opponents. Last season Neal was posting 17.9 PPG.

Vega has been automatic from the free-throw line, shooting 83.3 percent (75-of-90) with a minimum of 50 attempts.

James Cooper is another player that can be a potential game changer for Regis. Cooper's strength is in his ability to see the court, and make the needed drive to the lane.

Regis' success will be dependent upon Vega, Cooper and Neal working cohesively, and for all three to register double digits. Adding to that, Regis will have to stay out of foul trouble, pressure the ball when necessary, and make sure to limit its turnovers.
