Aubrey Heise Named GNAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. - After completing the Suffolk Relays for the first time in her collegiate career, Aubrey Heise (Mattapoisett, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week, announced Monday, Jan. 13. by the league office.

Last Saturday at the Suffolk Relays, Heise competed in the 500 meter dash for the first time this season, finishing 12th at 1:23.90. She then participated in the 1600 Sprint Medley alongside her teammates Emily Aho, Grace Micklon, and Annabelle Jean-Philippe to collect a time of 5:01.40, to place eighth.

This is the first time in her collegiate career that she has competed in either of these events and has earned a GNAC weekly award.

The Regis College track and field team will travel to compete in the Brawnwen Smith-King Invitational at Tufts University on Saturday, Jan. 18, with a 10:00a.m. start.
