Indoor: Placed sixth (11.94m) in the shot put at the New England Indoor Championships...placed second (11.89) in the shot put at the Reggie Poyau Invitational. Outdoor: At the New England Championships, placed fourth (39.00m) in the discus and 11th (11.45m) in the shot put...At the GNAC Championships, won the discus with a throw of 36.09 meters and placed second (11.54m) in the shot put.

Kate is a nursing major from Wilmington, Mass...She is the daughter of Donald and Janice Cowden...She has one sibling; Erin...During high school, she received the Frank Kelly Adversity Awards, was an all-star, team MVP and a captain.
