PRIDE COMPETE AT SEAN COLLIER INVITE

CAMEBRIDGE, Mass. – The Regis College Track and Field teams participated in the Sean Collier Invitational at the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Saturday morning.

Four members of the Pride women's squad qualified for the New England Division III Outdoor Championships that will be held at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. on May 7th.

Kate Cowden (Wilmington, Mass.) set a new personal record and qualified for New England's in the discus event with a throw of 33.89 meters which was good enough for a fifth place finish in the event. On the track, freshman Keegan Duguay (Watertown, Mass.) also qualified for New England's with a time of 16.45 in the 100 meter hurdles. Sophomore jumper Julia Haselhun (Carlsbad, Calif.) will be competing on May 7th and at ECAC's on May 20th as leaped a distance of 10.95 meters in the triple jump. Freshman Fatima St. Hilaire (Dorchester, Mass.) was the New England qualifier as her jump of 10.64 meters was good enough to qualify for the meet.

For the Pride men, senior Joe Greco (Oxford, Conn.) set a season best in the 400 meter sprint with a time of 51.92. Freshman Markus Brown (Boston, Mass.) won his heat of the 100 meter sprint with a finish of 11.88. In the field, thrower Taylor Garner (Richmond, Vt.) set a new personal best with a toss of 41.46 meters in the hammer throw.
