PRIDE SLUG IT OUT IN THE RAIN AT SNOWFLAKE INVITE

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Regis College Track & Field Teams competed at the Snowflake Invite Saturday afternoon in a monsoon on the campus of Tufts University. Eight School records were broken during the day.

For the Pride men, Matthew Malone (West Roxbury, Mass.) set the program record in the 110 meter high hurdles with a time of 15.79. Junior Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) smashed his own school record in the 800 with a time of 2:02. Shane Romanchick (Trumbull, Conn.) set a new school mark in the 5k race finishing the event in 16:46. In the throwing circle newcomer Taylor Garner (Richmond, Vt.) took a trip PR City in the hammer toss with a distance of 33.98. Garner's throw bested the previous school record.

On the women's side jumper Julia Haselhun (Carlsbad, Calif.) broke two school records on the day. She set the new mark in the long jump with a leap of 4.78 meters and snagged the new school mark in the triple jump with a jump of 10.63 meters. Sophomore Molly Curtin (Brockton, Mass.) joined the sub 20 minute 5k club with a school record time of 19:46. Kate Cowden (Wilmington, Mass.) broke her own school record in the discus throw with a distance of 33.09 meters, she then extended her school mark later on with a distance of 33.41.

Regis returns to the track next Saturday when they travel to Smith College for a 10:00 a.m. meet
