NEW PR'S SET IN DAY ONE OF DAVE HEMERY INVITE

BOSTON - The Regis College women's track and field team competed in day one of the Dave Hemery Valentine Invitational on the campus of Boston University on Friday afternoon.

Two new personal records were achieved both of them happened on the track.

Sophomore distance runner Molly Curtin (Brockton, Mass.) set a new personal record in the mile run with a time of 5:33.08 smashing her previous best time by six seconds. Santi Strickland (Holbrook, Mass.) had the best time of any Pride athlete in the 200 meter dash, crossing the finish line in 28.18. Cassandra Froio (Tewksbury, Mass.) excelled in the 200 meter dash with a personal record time 30.08.

In the shot put event, sophomore thrower Kate Cowden (Wilmington, Mass.) finished second in her flight with a distance of 10.43 meters

The track and field team returns to action tomorrow as the men's team travels to BU for the second day of the invite.
