TWO ATHLETES QUALIFY FOR NEW ENGLAND'S, RECORD FALL AT MIT

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Regis College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Art Farnham Invitational Saturday morning on the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

For the women, sophomore runner Molly Curtin (Brockton, Mass.) broke an 18 year old school record in the mile run after she took home first place and finished the race in 5:39.49. Freshman Keegan Duguay (Watertown, Mass.) qualified for New England's and set a personal best with a tome of 9.64 in the 60 meter hurdles. Rachel Wood (Manchester, N.H.) ran the 600 meter race in 1:58.10 which was a personal record for the senior distance runner. In the field events Ayeshah Malhi (Merrimac, Mass.) set a new school record in the weight throw competition with a distance of 11.07 meters.

On the men's side, Junior Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) broke the school record in the 600 meter race and qualified for New England's with a time of 1:25.39. Newcomer Matthew Malone (West Roxbury, Mass.) took home first place and set a personal record in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.7 seconds. Freshman runner Jordan Dash (Orleans, Mass.) (2:08) and teammate Jonathan Paul (Medford, Mass.) (2:09) set personal bests in the 800 meter event.

Regis returns to the track in two weeks when they take part in the Dave Hemery Invitational hosted by Boston University at 10:00 a.m.
