REGIS RETURNS TO ACTION AT BRANDEIS

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Regis College men's and women's track and field team returned to action after a month layoff to compete at the Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational on the campus of Brandeis University on Saturday morning.

Freshman Fatima St. Hilaire (Dorchester, Mass.) broke the school record in the long jump while winning the event with a jump of 5.08m. Also tallying points in the field events was shot putter Liz Ksepka (Calais, Vt.) with a toss of 10.50m finishing second. On the track, newcomer Keegan Duguay (Watertown, Mass.) captured second in the hurdles at 9.39 seconds.

On the men's side of the score card rookie Taylor Garner (Richmond, Vt.) won the men's weight throw with a toss of 11.19m. Classmate Markus Brown (Boston, Mass.) earned a second place finish in the 55m dash crossing at 6.91 seconds. Matthew Malone (West Roxbury, Mass.) earned a first place finish in the 55m hurdles improving his existing school record with an 8.22 second performance. Distance runner Shane Romanchick (Trumbull, Conn.) crossed the finish line in the 3k at a school record time of 9:36.

Both squads are on the road at Smith College this coming Saturday in Northampton, Mass.
