PRIDE OPEN TRACK SEASON AT UMASS BOSTON INVITE

BOSTON - The Regis College men's and women's track teams opened the 2015-2016 indoor campaigns at the UMASS Boston Invitational hosted at the Reggie Lewis Center. Both squads combined to break ten school records.

On the oval, Stephen McCall (Brockton, Mass.) broke the 5k record with a time of 16:42. Fellow distance runner Shane Romanchick (Trumbull, Conn.) took the 3k record in 9:54. Both 4x400 relay teams wrote their names in the history books, the women at 4:32 and men at 3:34.

In the field events Ray Grasso (Orange, Mass.) broke both the triple and long jump marks with 12.81m and 6.09m respectively. Female jumper Julia Haselhun (Carlsbad, Calif.) broke the long jump with a mark of 4.98m. In the shot circle Freshman Elliana Boebel (Bedford, Mass.) bested Kate Cowden's (Wilmington, Mass.) record with a toss of 10.82m.

Both teams are back to training until their next meet at Brandeis University on January 16th.
