PRIDE HEAD BACK TO TUFTS FOR CUPID CHALLENGE

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College Men's and Women's Track & Field Team traveled back to Tufts University Saturday Afternoon and competed in the 2015 Tufts Cupid Challenge in Medford, Mass.

In the field events on the men's side, sophomore jumper Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) broke his own school record in the high jump event besting his previous mark of 1.78 meters with a new record of 1.83 meters. Freshman thrower Ryan Richards (Pembroke, Mass.) finished fifth out of 49th competitors in the shot put event by throwing it 13.32 meters. Paul Gionfriddo (Burlington, Conn.) also had a strong showing in the shot put event with a distance of 12.18 meters. On the track, junior sprinter Joe Greco (Oxford, Conn.) finished 12th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.99 seconds. Ray Grasso (Orange, Mass.) also competed in the event and had a time of 54.01.

On the women's side, freshman thrower Kate Cowden (Wilmington, Mass.) finished within the top-15 in the shot put with a throw of 10.36 meters. On the track, sophomore Kylie Homem (Peabody, Mass.) ran a personal best in the 200 meter dash in 32.81. Freshman Rachel Mandeville (Woburn, Mass.) finished the mile run with a time of 6:16.76. Alexa Lucas (Melrose, Mass.) competed in the 800 meter run and finished the race with a time of 2:53.03

Both teams return to action next Saturday when the Pride ship off to Boston to compete in the Dave Hemery Invitational hosted by Boston University with start time slated for 11:00 a.m.
