MEDFORD, Mass. - The Regis College track and field teams continued their outdoor season with the Snowflake Classic on Saturday, hosted by Tufts University.
Freshman Siobhan McLaughlin (Derry, N.H.) raced to a 13th place finish in the 10,000 meter after putting up a time of 44:03.54. Classmates Kylie Homem (Peabody, Mass.) and Nina Dow (Grafton, Mass.) also performed well for the Pride, with Homem recording a time of 20.31 in the 100 meter hurdles and Dow throwing a distance of 6.64 meters in the shot put.
Sophomore Diana Tran (Somerville, Mass.) competed in the 100 and 200 meter dashes for the Pride. She had a time of 14.81 in the 100 meter dash and later registered a time of 31.58 in the 200 meter dash.
On the men's side, junior Matt Owens (Boston, Mass.) raced to two top-five place finishes in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. In the 100, Owens took second place with a time of 11.10, and later took home fourth place in the 200 with a time of 22.84.
The Regis men had four other top 10 finishes on the day. Sophomore Ray Grasso (Orange, Mass.) had a third place finish in the triple jump (12.67m) and added an eighth place finish in the 400 meter hurdles (1:00.15).
Freshman Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) and junior Paul Gionfriddo (Burlington, Conn.) each took tenth place in their respective events. Norton recorded a time of 52.60 in the 400 meters while Gionfriddo threw a distance of 12.76 meters in the shot put.
The Pride will return to action next weekend with a meet at Mass.-Dartmouth on Saturday, which will begin at 10 a.m.
