REGIS COMPETES AT TUFTS CUPID INVITE

MEDFORD, Mass. - The Regis College men's and women's track teams competed at the Cupid Invite, hosted by Tufts University, on Saturday.  

Matt Owens (Boston, Mass.) had a spectacular day on the track, as he broke the school record in the 60m Dash, twice. Owens made the finals in the event and came in third overall out of 42 participants with a time of 7.04.

The sophomore was able to qualify for three separate Championship races, including the New England Division III Championships, ECAC's, and All-New England Championships.

Junior Jeremy Israel (Boston, Mass.) also had a solid day for the Pride. He came in second place in the 400m out of a field of 39 runners with a time of 50.93. Israel also qualified for the same three Championship races as Owens.

The 4x400m Relay team of Israel, Ray Grasso (Orange, Mass.), Chandler Davies (Hartford, Conn.), and Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) also raced to a fourth place finish at the meet after posting a time of 3:35.05.

Tori Rapsis (Nashua, N.H.) cleared ten feet in the pole vault to highlight the women's performances of the day. 

Regis will return to action for the Division III New England Championships next Saturday, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m.
