RECORD BREAKING DAY FOR RAPSIS & MCLAUGHLIN

CAMBRIDGE, Mass - The trend of outstanding performances by the Regis College men's and women's track and field teams continued on Saturday at the Gordon Kelly Invitational, hosted by MIT. Three records were broken on the afternoon; two by the women and one by the men.

Senior Tori Rapsis (Nashua, N.H.) and freshman Siobhan McLaughlin (Derry, N.H.) each broke their own records in their respective events.

Rapsis vaulted 10 feet and six inches, breaking her previous best mark of 10 feet, while McLaughlin ran a personal best of 11:06 in the 3K event.

Meanwhile on the men's side, sophomore Jonathan Paul (Medford, Mass.) ran a blistering 10:02, also in the 3k. Paul broke the previous school record of 10:18, which was held by junior Owen McQuaid (Marlborough, Mass.).

Also competing well for the Pride was freshman Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.), who participated in the high jump for the first time in Regis' history. Norton cleared five feet and eight inches.

Next up for Regis is the Tufts Cupid Invite, which will take place next Saturday, Feb. 15 at Tufts University.
