TRAN & HOMEM POST PERSONAL BESTS AT HARVARD INVITE

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Regis College men's and women's track teams had a handful of standout performances at the Harvard Invitational on Saturday.

Leading the way was freshman Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.), who had one of the highlight results of the day after breaking the school record in the 800m. The rookie distance runner posted a time of 2:01.92 in the race, which was good enough for an 18th place individual finish.

Junior Jeremy Israel (Boston, Mass.) had a great day on the track as well, as he qualified for the New England Division III Championships in the 400m after cruising to a 51.67 and 13th place finish.

A pair of Pride women posted personal records in their respective events. Sophomore Diana Tran (Somerville, Mass.) had her best time in the 60m dash (8.88), while freshman Kylie Homem (Peabody, Mass.) posted her quickest time in the 60m hurdles (11.92).

Senior Tori Rapsis (Nashua, N.H.) cleared 10 feet in the pole vault for Regis, which put her in a three-way tie for seventh place in the event.

Next up the Pride will compete at the MIT Invitational next Saturday, Feb. 8. Events are set to start at 10 a.m.
