BOSTON – The Regis College women's swimming and diving team scored in every event contested Saturday to remain in second place at the 2019 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, hosted by Simmons University at the Holmes Sports Center Natatorium.

Kyleigh Boatwright (Roseville, Calif.) was Regis's top finisher in individual swimming events, as she placed third twice. First, she touched the wall third in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:16.55, and then she placed third in the 100 freestyle in 58.35 seconds after a preliminary time of 57.03 seconds.

Elisabeth McQuaid (Marlborough, Mass.) also notched a third-place finish as she completed the one-meter diving event with a score of 207.65. Alexa Lancisi (Milford, Mass.) also scored for the Pride in the diving event, finishing sixth after posting a score of 159.65.

Lancisi also finished fourth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.93, just ahead of Jessica Zernitsky (Newton, Mass.) in fifth place in 1:03.41 and Katherine Mariano (Newton, Mass.) in sixth place in 1:04.71. Mariano also finished in fifth place in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.92 seconds.

Julia Burke (North Andover, Mass.) finished fourth in the 50 breaststroke by 1/100^th of a second with a time of 33.82 seconds. Earlier in the session, she finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.62.

Sarah Leonard (Brockton, Mass.) also earned a fifth-place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:20.26. Leonard then led off the 400 medley relay with a 100 backstroke split of 1:01.29, joining with Burke, Lancisi, and Zernitsky for a second-place finish in the event with a total time of 4:14.26.

In the first event of the night session, the 500 freestyle, Gloria Sutton (Suffield, Conn.) finished in sixth place with a time of 5:36.82, followed by Thalia Bowie (Lexington, Mass.) in seventh place in 5:38.31. Sutton also finished in seventh place in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:23.80.

Regis was able to collect several points by qualifying swimmers in "B" finals, starting in the 500 freestyle where Ryan Moran (Arlington, Mass.) finished 10^th overall in 5:57.62, followed by Lila Williams (East Bridgewater, Mass.) in 13^th place in 6:05.59. Hayley Ferguson (Billerica, Mass.) won the B-final of the 100 breaststroke, placing ninth overall with a time of 1:17.05, and Lindsey Bone (Rosenberg, Texas) finished 12^th overall in 1:19.61.

In the 100 freestyle B-final, Amy Collins (Hanson, Mass.) posted a time of 1:01.55 to place 11^th overall, ahead of Mallytza Ibarra Davila (Yuma, Ariz.) in 14^th place in 1:02.82 and Bone in 15^th place in 1:04.31. Ferguson finished second in the B-final of the 50 breaststroke and 10^th overall in 35.81 seconds, just ahead of Bone in 11^th place in 35.83 seconds and Collins in 15^th place in 39.40 seconds.

As a team, Regis is solidly in second place with 386 points, but Simmons has established itself at the top of the standings with 652 points.

The third and final day of the 2019 GNAC Swimming and Diving Championships will take place Sunday, Feb. 3, with preliminaries beginning at 9 a.m. and finals starting at 3 p.m.
