Higgins Earns NEISDA Swimmer of the Week Honors

WESTON, Mass. - Jessica Higgins, a junior on the Regis (Mass.) women's swimming and diving team, has been voted the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Swimmer of the Week.

Higgins (Peabody, Mass.) had an excellent meet for the Pride on Oct. 15 at Regis vs. the University of New England. She won the 200yd free (2:06.77), 100yd back (1:03.90) and the 50yd fly (28.39). Higgins was the fastest leg in the 200yd Freestyle relay as well with a time of 26.31.

Co-captain Higgins has put in extra effort this week to promote team comradery, as she hosted a movie night before the meet for the women’s team. She maintains a positive attitude and is a role model during practice.

Higgins is studying Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Regis. She is the daughter of Michael and Sheila Higgins of Peabody, Mass.

Jessica Higgins and the Regis Pride return to the pool this Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at Regis. The Pride will race the Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors and Bridgewater State University Bears.
