SCOTS SWIM PAST PRIDE

WENHAM, Mass. - The Regis College men's and women's swimming & diving teams fell on the road to Gordon College on Saturday afternoon. The women were defeated, 135-120, while the men dropped a 130-90 decision.

Junior Haley Bowen (Litchfield, N.H.) led the Pride women with two individual first place finishes in the 1000 Freestyle and 100 Breaststoke. Bowen clocked in at 12:26.40 and 1:14.83, respectively. 

Sophomore Amanda Iandoli (Mansfield, Mass.) and junior Shannan O'Neil (Lowell, Mass.) also registered individual wins on the day. Iandoli completed the 500 Freestyle in 6:19.07 and O'Neil's time of 30.98 was the fastest in the 50 Butterfly. 

Bowen teamed up with sophomore Lucia Llorente-Ruiz (Newton, Mass.) and seniors Megan Kennelly (Milford, Mass.) and Stacy Burns (Waltham, Mass.) in the 200 Freestyle Relay, which finished first with a time of 1:55.06.  

Freshman Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.) had a standout day on the men's side after taking three first place finishes. He won the 50 Backstroke (25.74), 100 Butterfly (56.73), and 100 Backstroke (55.91).

Junior Alex Graf (Newton, Mass.) also had a solid day in the pool for the Pride after winning both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Individual Medley in 22.78 and 59.85, respectively. 

Graf, Luong, freshman Robert Ekberg (Northbridge, Mass.), and senior Djordje Mandic (Portland, Maine) capped off the day with a win in the 200 Freestyle Relay, which they completed in 1:36.36.

The Pride will return to the pool this Friday when they host St. Joseph's (Me.) at 6 p.m.
