Women's Lacrosse Named IWLCA Academic Honor Squad, Five Receive Individual Honors

GRAND LAKE, Colo. - The Regis (Mass.) women's lacrosse team has been named an Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association, while five Pride student-athletes were named to the Academic Honor Roll.

The Pride was one of 314 institutions to receive the honor across all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA. To qualify for the honor, team must post a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the academic year. Southern Vermont College and Wheelock College joined Regis as New England Collegiate Conference representatives honored by the NWLCA.

Senior Danielle Aguinaldo (Malden, Mass.) and juniors Linsay Bumila (Raynham, Mass.), Julia Jones (Revere, Mass.), Erin Loehner (Danvers, Mass.) and Maresa Malcolm (Barrington, N.J.) represented the Pride as members of the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and must earn a grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

The five Regis representatives was tied with Wheelock for most in the NECC. In total, 544 student-athletes from 162 Division III institutions were named to the IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. led all institutions with 11 honorees.
