WESTON, Mass.Sam Salamone (Milford, Mass.) continued to etch her name into Regis College Pride lore, setting a new women's lacrosse program mark with her 258th goal in a 19-5 victory by Regis over Elms College in New England Collegiate Conference action on Wednesday at Regis Stadium.

With the win, the Pride (9-5) run their league record to a perfect 6-0 and move one step closer to the top seed in next week's NECC Championship Tournament. Elms falls to 7-8 overall and 3-3 in conference.

Salamone, who finished with a game-high five goals and currently has 262 for her career, got her record breaking goal 1:21 into the contest, racing down the middle of the field and finishing past Blazer goalie Alissa Porfilio (Agawam, Mass.) to put the Pride up 2-0.

The lead swelled quickly as Salamone added another to give her team a 5-0 lead just over four minutes into the game. Elms would hang around though when Vanessa Vurno (Salem, Conn.) scored and assisted on another to make it a 5-2 game.

That would be all the scoring for Elms in the first half as Regis added seven more including three in the final five minutes to take a 12-2 lead into halftime.

Arianna Woodley (Norwood, Mass.) scored just over five minutes into the second half to give the Pride what would amount to their largest lead at 16-2.

Ashley Cava (Wibraham, Mass.) scored a pair of goals late with Vurno adding another inside of four minutes to complete the scoring. Cava finished with a team-high three goals with Vurno adding two goals and two assists.

Emily Kosak (Milton, Mass.) scored on each of her three shot attempts while adding an assist with Taylor Assarian (Arlington, Mass.) posting two goals and an assist of her own. Emma Decker (Southborough, Mass.) got the win in goal for the Pride with 12 saves.

Regis gets right back at it tomorrow for a non-conference meeting against Framingham State at 5:00 p.m. Elms visits Southern Vermont for its regular season finale. Start time for that game is set for 2:30 p.m.
