TANA DICENSO SCORES REGIS COLLEGE GOAL VERSUS ENDICOTT COLLEGE

WESTON, Mass.—Four different Endicott College Gulls tallied at least three goals Saturday as Endicott (2-2, 2-0 TCCC) defeated The Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Regis College (1-2, 0-1 TCCC) 18-1 in Weston, Massachusetts.

Caitlin Pratt (Bow, N.H./Bow), Kelly Tierney (South Hadley, Mass./South Hadley), Callie Murphy (Woburn, Mass./Woburn), and Holly Davis (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) each tallied at least three goals for Endicott in its rout of Regis College. Tierney also collected a team tying four ground balls. Lauren Todd (Newfields, N.H./Exeter) also had four ground balls.

Michelle Loizzo (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) scored Endicott’s first goal unassisted, with just 1:30 into the start of the game, and she scored her second goal of the day just shy of two minutes later.

As a team, Endicott had 13 assists on the day. Murphy had two assists, a team-high, as she contributed on Pratt’s score with 48-seconds remaining in the first period, and on Kylie Ross’ (Cumberland, Maine/Greely) lone score of the game.

Endicott managed control of the shots (36) it took versus the Pride, and defensively held Regis College to just five total shots. Tana DiCenso (Framingham, Mass./Marian) scored Regis’ lone goal in the 47th minute. It was her third goal of the season. She was a perfect 1-for-1 in shots and shots on goal.

Leading goal scorers’ Teresa Crevier (Milford, Mass./Milford) and Teresa Busiek (Arlington, Mass./Arlington Catholic) maintained the Regis defense as each collected four ground balls apiece. Endicott finished the day with 27 total ground balls collected. In comparison, Regis had 21 ground balls, and had three more (9-6) than Endicott in the second period.

Busiek also contributed with four caused turnovers. The Pride had 11. Endicott posted two more with 13 caused turnovers. The teams were even in turnovers with each having committed 16 on the day.

Meghan Ryan (Stow, Mass./Iona College) had 16 saves for Regis College in her 60 minutes in the net. She has 32 saves to date with a .432 saves percentage.

Endicott College will travel to non-conference opponent Babson College (March 20) in hopes of capturing back-to-back to wins. Regis College takes the field Monday (March 21) versus nearby Mount Ida College at 7:00 PM.
