Kalinowski Sets Regis Outdoor Record in Pole Vault at Tufts

SOMERVILLE, Mass. - Conrad Kalinowski (London, England) broke the school outdoor record in the pole vault to lead the Regis men's track and field team at the Snowflake Classic, hosted Saturday by Tufts University at the Dussault Track and Field Complex.

Kalinowski finished in a tie for third place after clearing 4.15 meters (13' 7.25") on his second attempt at that height. He also anchored the Regis 4x100 meter relay to victory, joining with Harry Grayson (Lowell, Mass.), Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.), and Zachary Olayiwole (Marlborough, Mass.) to post an overall time of 45.31 seconds, 9/100ths of a second ahead of Colby-Sawyer in second place.

Stogsdill led the Pride in the 400 meter dash, finishing in 15th place overall with a time of 53.09 seconds, followed by Brett Kiesel (Rocky Hill, Conn.) in 18th place in 54.06 seconds and Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.) in 20th place in 54.50 seconds. Olayiwole was Regis' top finisher in the 200 meter dash in 24.41 seconds, good enough for 16th place overall, while Grayson posted a time of 24.76 seconds and Stogsdill finished in 24.84 seconds.

Happenny also completed the 5000 meter run for the first time in his collegiate track and field career, posting a time of 17:28.83. Zach Sigman (Buffalo, N.Y.) finished in 10th place in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 36:38.65.

Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) finished in third place in the triple jump with a mark of 12.08 meters (39' 7.75") accomplished on his third attempt. He also ended up in a tie for fifth place in the high jump after clearing 1.70 meters (5' 7") on his first opportunity and in seventh place in the long jump with a mark of 5.96 meters (19' 6.75") on his fourth attempt.

Kiesel placed ninth in the long jump with a mark of 5.86 meters (19' 2.75") posted on his second attempt and 13th in the javelin throw with consecutive tosses of 38.95 meters (127' 9"). Aiden Charles (Lowell, Mass.) capped a busy day by posting a personal collegiate-best mark in the hammer throw at 30.43 meters (99' 10"), placing 16th overall.

Olayiwole, Aryaman Nagaraj (Watertown, Mass.), Liam Austin (Boston, Mass.), and Michael Carroll (Lynn, Mass.) finished 10th overall in the 4x400 meter relay with an overall time of 3:58.04. That final point landed the Pride in 12th place as a team with 28 points, with host school Tufts earning the team title by totaling 118 points.

The Regis College track and field team will host the Regis Spring Classic Thursday, April 6, beginning at 10 a.m. at Regis Stadium.
